What gear do I need to bring to a Southwest Archery Challenge event?

Bring whatever you would need for both a day of hiking and a day of shooting.  Bring plenty of water, snacks, good boots, sunscreen, extra arrows, an arrow puller and a positive attitude.  Come out to have fun, but be safe.

What type of targets are we shooting at?

All of our targets are professional Rinehart Targets.  They range in size from smaller animals like fox and javelina, to larger game, like deer and elk.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Is the facility open on Sunday?
    No, we are closed on Sunday. However, if you make a reservation 3-4 days in advance, we will open for you. (Availability must be confirmed)
  • What is your refund policy?
    Refunds are only available to those who cancel 24 hours in advance.
  • What gear do I need to bring to hit in the cages?
    Bring whatever you would need for a regular day of practice. Bat, batting gloves, helmet and a drink are the basics. If you have any other personal gear you usually use in game, you may want to wear that while you swing in the cage. If you don't have a bat or helmet, our facility has some to loan free of charge. NO CLEATS ALLOWED IN CAGES
  • Can I wear Cleats in the cages?
    No, unfortunately cleats are not allowed in any of our cages due to the extreme wear on the turf mats. Tennis shoes are the only allowed footwear.
  • How are private lessons conducted?
    After consulting with the customer and Coach JK, it is decided which skills to focus on. An ongoing plan will be worked out to maximize the time allotted and the skills needing development.
  • Will one lesson make me a better player?
    Yes, while one lesson can definitely find issues that need work or reinforce what motions to continue, weekly or monthly lessons will yield an amazing improvement with dedication to hard work from the student.
  • What experience does JK have?
    JK Ryu was a professional baseball player both in South Korea and the United States for almost 20 years. With two sons playing the sport at a higher level, he can translate his skills into willing students.
  • What does a day of practice cost at the facility?
    Prices vary depending on the type of practice and the duration of the lesson. Several package deals are available for the best value pricing. Please see our booking page for prices and to book your cage or lesson today!
  • What age can you use the facility?
    You need to be at least 7 years old (Tee Ball Age) to use the facility. With parent approval, kids can use the machines set to their comfortable speed. Lessons are available as soon as the student begins playing baseball. When a private lesson is not in session, you can soft toss to your child in the live cage.
  • Can several people take lessons together?
    It is possible, however, our facility does not yet offer lessons specifically designed to be in groups. We will do our best to accommodate if you want to share a lesson with a friend.
  • Are outdoor lessons available?
    Yes. Consultation is required and we will set up the lesson accordingly...please call the facility to inquire.
